About Alaryon
What is Alaryon?
Alaryon is a text-based fantasy RPG where the entire world speaks the language you're learning. You explore towns, talk to NPCs, fight monsters, buy gear, and complete quests — all by typing commands in your target language.
We built Alaryon because we wanted to learn languages but kept bouncing off apps. Flashcards felt like homework. Courses felt like school. We wanted something that felt like playing a game — because it is one.
How It Works
You pick a character class — Warrior, Rogue, Mage, or Ranger — and choose which language you want the world to speak. Then you're dropped into the first town. Every room description, NPC dialogue, shop menu, and combat message is in your target language. You learn words because you need them: to navigate, to trade, to survive.
Stuck on a sentence? Tap it to see the translation. Tap the speaker to hear it spoken aloud. The game meets you where you are, whether you're a complete beginner or brushing up on a language you studied years ago.
Five Languages, One World
Alaryon currently supports five learning languages: Spanish, French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, and English. Russian and Ukrainian speakers can play in their native language too. Pick any combination of native and target language — same world, different words.
A Small Team, Building Something Different
Alaryon is built by a small, independent team. We're not backed by a giant ed-tech company. We're language learners who happen to write code and love RPGs. We add new regions, quests, NPCs, and stories regularly. If you play it and love it, tell us what to build next.
